Rock the House Ministries
the Story
For some time now, I have felt a burden for the lost and that includes sleepy and dying churches. Let’s face it, the American Church has become comfortable, complacent and confused. Too often we assemble in the name of our Lord only to practice awkward traditions that please “us”. Instead of devoted worship of the creator of the universe, we have become practitioners of religion. The ways of the world have crept in and our churches resemble social clubs. According to Barna research, only 2-3% of American adults consider themselves to be disciples of Christ while 64% of American adults call themselves “Christian”.
It is no wonder why we are not living out the Great Commission.
The complacent church must become the confessing Church.
We must honor God and not ourselves.
Sound Doctrine must replace our “make it up as we go” philosophy.
In the season where I was seeking an applicable ministry name. I woke up around 3:am on a December night in 2023. I figured that if I could not sleep, I would just do some of my year end cleanup of my computer file/folders. I was working for at least an hour on moving files around, mostly my sermons. After that, I had a coffee and sat in the living room enjoying the Christmas music on the radio. Suddenly, I began thinking about unconventional ways to reach the lost (inside and outside of church walls). I began thinking about something I thought of many times prior how does one reach the lost, even the lost churchy people.
Then He sent it. Wham!!!! Rock the House.
